Parent/Community Hub
We have an active Parent/Community Hub in our Centres.
These meetings are held once per month and are designed to give parents the opportunity to observe how the Abecedarian Approach is used in the room and learn some skills that can be implemented to further their child’s development at home.
We provide a garden morning tea and have a guest speaker attend each month. This meeting gives parents a chance to become involved with the Centre through sharing their ideas and providing feedback to the Centre Director.
We welcome all parents to attend any social or fundraising events in the Centre such as Mother’s day, Father’s day, Easter, and Christmas celebrations throughout the year.

Enrolment & Orientation
A one time fee is payable on enrolment at Playschool Early Learning Centres. Your child will be given a Playschool bucket hat to wear at the Centre as part of this fee.
We do not require an enrolment fee to be paid for your child to go on our waiting list. Once a position in the Centre becomes available and is accepted by a family the enrolment fee is due. There is only one enrolment fee required per family.
We encourage parents to visit the Centre with their child before their official start date. These visits are complimentary and allow parents to meet the educators that will be caring for their child and become familiar with the routine of the room and the environment. During the orientation the Centre Director and Group Leader in your child’s room will take you through a checklist of important things you need to know about the Centre and the room.
Am I Entitled to Government Assistance?
To aid in the payment of childcare fees, the Department of Human Services has provided access to the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) for eligible families. The CCS replaces the Child Care Benefit (CCB) and Child Care Rebate (CCR) with a single means-tested subsidy. You will need to provide yours and your child’s Customer Reference Number (CRN) and date of birth upon enrolment at the Centre. Your out of pocket child care expenses are your total child care fees less any CCS you are entitled to. The CCS will be paid directly to the Service. Please note it is the parent’s responsibility to contact the Department of Human Services to apply for these schemes. Click the link for further information about the Child Care Subsidy.
For further information contact the Department of Human Services on 136150 or go to their website at www.humanservices.gov.au

Immunisation
All children must be immunised and up to date to be enrolled at Playschool Early Learning Centres. To be eligible for the CCS your child must meet the immunisation requirements.
This means that your child must be up to date with immunisations listed on the Department of Health’s ‘National Immunisation Program Schedule‘ or be on a catch-up schedule according to the current Australian Immunisation Handbook.
It is a requirement of the Centre that we have an up to date ‘Immunisation History Statement’ on file for your child prior to commencement and during their enrolment at the Centre.
